The Raiders have completed their trade for DeAngelo Hall, sending a second round pick in this year's draft and a 5th round pick in next year's draft to Atlanta in return for Hall. > Click here for full storyHe's obviously a great signing who will fit really well into the Raiders' 99% man-to-man coverage scheme (although whether or not we needed another corner is questionable!) and I'm glad that it's ended up being a 5th round pick in next year's draft (rather than a 6th rounder in this year's), but it does leave the team pretty short on draft picks this year with a number of holes that still need to be filled. Currently, the Raiders have 1st, 4th, 6th and 7th round picks in this year's draft, plus any compensatory selections that they are awarded. If they pick McFadden with their 1st round pick, then that means it won't be until the 4th round that they actually start adressing the needs of the team, so here's hoping that they can do a deal that sees them picking again on the first day! Also in the news, it looks like a deal sending Pacman Jones to the Cowboys is coming closer to fruition. Mike

I can see the Raiders trading down...they simply dont have the cap room to sign a top five pick

I actually think I'd be quite happy if they did. I mean, it's nice to think that you're potentially getting one of the top players in the draft, and you can put together a team of fantastic players, but if you have any weaknesses in that team you'll be found out, especially at NFL level. Right now the Raiders need to build a solid team into which they can insert playmakers, rather than trying to do it the other way round.
