Dolphins have aquired Quarterback Trent Green from KC. I am very very happy about this. Finally a steady qb at the helm. My only fear, is he getting on a bit?

Finally! Lol..Was starting to wander if this trade would ever happen! Like Neil says, he'll be a good player to lead the team and train-up his successor, which is good news for John Beck! Mikey

Culpepper asks Dolphins to release him By TIM REYNOLDS, AP Sports Writer June 7, 2007
MIAMI (AP) -- Daunte Culpepper wants to choose his next team, so he's asked the Miami Dolphins to release him.
Culpepper, who serves as his own agent, made the request Thursday -- one day after the Dolphins completed a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs for quarterback Trent Green and told Culpepper they would try to trade him.
"I must say the impatience the organization displayed in both encouraging me to rush back on the field last year and then rushing me out the door this year is disappointing," Culpepper said. "However, I understand that they have the right to make that business decision. It is now my turn to make some decisions."
Dolphins coach Cam Cameron has indicated he wants to have some resolution to the Culpepper situation by Friday, when the team opens a three-day minicamp. Green, the presumed starter in Miami this season, will be there -- and Culpepper said he'll also be on the field if he's not released first.
Culpepper had a major right knee injury in 2005, yet the Dolphins still sent a second-round pick to the Minnesota Vikings for him before the 2006 season. Culpepper started the first four games last season, before the team shut him down because of problems with the knee, and he's been largely unable to compete in practices so far this offseason.
But the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback obtained clearance from orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews to resume football activity on Monday, and Dolphins' team physicians followed suit on Tuesday -- while the team was nearing a deal with Kansas City for Green, who was the starter there for most of the past six seasons.
"It is necessary to obtain a release rather than seek a trade so that I would not bring the excess baggage of my present contract to a new team," Culpepper said. "I feel like my next team should have the opportunity to get to know me as a man and a player before they make any long-term commitment."
In 84 games over parts of the past seven NFL seasons, Culpepper has completed 64 percent of his passes for 21,091 yards and 137 touchdowns with 89 interceptions.
The Dolphins had no intentions to keep both Green and Culpepper. They re-signed backup Cleo Lemon to a one-year deal earlier this offseason, and chose Brigham Young quarterback John Beck in the second round of this year's draft after passing on Notre Dame's Brady Quinn with the ninth overall pick.
Miami and Kansas City talked for weeks about a trade involving Green. The Dolphins offered a sixth-round pick before the NFL Draft, the Chiefs insisted on a fourth-round selection, and the sides ultimately agreed on a fifth-rounder in 2008's draft -- which could become a fourth-round choice depending on how Green fares in Miami this season.
When the trade finally became final, Culpepper said he'd welcome being part of an open competition for the job in Miami, yet said Thursday that he suspected that wouldn't happen.
"Even though it is frustrating, I had prepared myself for the possibility that I would not be given an opportunity to compete here since the week before this year's NFL Draft," Culpepper said. "At that time it became obvious to me that my desire to compete would not trump established relationships."

The O Line is still a big probably, Cam hasn't even decided on who is the center yet. Plus with all the shuffling the linemen around it is hard to think that Trent won't be without a full working brain before they make the trip to London. This is my 20th year of being a Dolfan and it is great to finally see a half decent QB at the helm again. But with that O Line and a starting TE who is more a receiver than a blocker, Trent better make some quick reads and releases, otherwise Lemon will be earning his $1.3 m before you can say concussion. Hopefully though they'll have Mauia in the backfield to pick up the zillion blitzers that will be going after Green's head for a trophy. If the line isn't swiss cheese we could just make a semi-decent run at the wildcard spot.

I'd say no less than a 3rd round pick or two

Well Culpepper's apparently going to block any trade attempt, his current deal with Miami would seem to be a stumbling block too for any trade, ($5.5million this year, signed until 2012, $51.5million total)

What value do you expect to get Daunte i forgot the snap count Culpepper ? I'd be surprised if they got anything better than a fifth. At a push maybe a fifth/condition fourth kinda like the Green deal, dependent on achieving certain goals. I wouldn't be surprised though though if he went for a 6th. I think Cam and co are just keen to clean house and will take anything they can get for him. If no team is biting and if Culpepper won't play ball I think they will release him relatively soon. Mueller though is pretty good at milking deals, so you never know. It was him that sold Ricky to the fins while he was GM for the Saints. Cost Wannstedt almost everything but his first born. At least this saga won't go on for as long as the Green trade!

Culpepper bruises left hand in car crash By TIM REYNOLDS, AP Sports Writer June 14, 2007
MIAMI (AP) -- Miami Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper said Thursday that he slightly bruised his left, non throwing hand in a two-car accident, but escaped serious injury.
"I am fine," Culpepper said in an e-mail to The Associated Press.
Culpepper said the vintage Chevrolet car he was driving was rear-ended by another motorist late Wednesday night on a South Florida highway. He said the top of his left hand was bruised and he got X-rays as a precaution.
"The real problem is that the guy damaged my 1975 convertible Caprice Classic," Culpepper said.
Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky confirmed Culpepper was involved in the accident but had no immediate details.
"We've spoken to Daunte and he assured us he was fine," Dolphins spokesman Harvey Greene said.
Culpepper was Miami's starting quarterback for the first four games of the 2006 season, before the Dolphins shut him down because of his ongoing knee problems. Culpepper needed reconstructive surgery after tearing knee ligaments while playing for the Minnesota Vikings in 2005, then was traded to the Dolphins after that season.
His rehab from the knee injury is ongoing, but he was cleared to resume football workouts earlier this month.
Culpepper has asked the Dolphins to release him from his contract so he can compete to be a starting quarterback elsewhere this season. The Dolphins have told Culpepper that they want to trade him, and last week acquired Trent Green -- who's almost certain to be this year's starting quarterback -- from the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a draft pick.
