Guys..I need to start getting dates sorted out for when people can and can't play, plus preferrable days (Ie/ Saturdays or Sundays?) I'll have a calender along to the next few practises but if people could give me an idea of when they're gonna be unavailable that would be great!

I'll be fine for most weekends but will be a way for both the 12/13th and 19/20th March. I'll be free til the end of July before I go away on 11th-22nd Aug. Will be starting Uni in Glasgow in September, so first weekend of August is likely to be my last. Though you may see me again later in the year or in season 2006 as I have spoken to Glasgow Sabres about joining up once I move down and they're fine with it. If that happened would I have to fill out some sort of form to say I'm moving from Oilcats to Sabres before I go down?

Marc, the SFFA does not allow players to transfer during the season unless the club folds.....anyway the Senior season should be finished around the start /middle of August

depending times on Sat i mite be able to do that i work till 12 if theres not a match so if its a home game for us then i could prob manage that. Sun all depends on if im playing kitted that week or not cuz to be honest id rather hit someone than pull off there flag and get a penalty for jumping.

Sorry if you feel that Flag aint exciting enough for you Darren Listen , I dont want the senior team to go the same way as it did last year so we need to sort this out now.....BEFORE we play a game this year. If people cant give commitment then we should knock this whole thing on the head..........Im getting wholly sick fed up with comments ...it makes me wonder if its seriously all worth the hassle.........Im not going to put my time into flogging a dead horse. If you guys knew half the bloody work that goes on running this club, then you might have a wee bit more respect....remember Gordon, Scott and I all have full time jobs and familes.....its not just the case of turning up on a Sunday for a couple of hours. Also, give Mike a wee bit of help and respect here, its probably the most difficuult job in arranging fixtures, travel etc. Rant over, read what you like into the comments

Look guys... as Dave says we need to sort this out properly before we get into problems with games. I know flag is for fun and I don't want that to change, although I know I can get a bit too serious about it sometimes. None of us will be available every weekend and that is acceptable as long as you let us know when you are unavailabe for practice/training and Mike knows for arranging fixture dates - which believe me is not easy. We just have to accept that some people (including coaches) may miss some of the games, but we would obviously want to keep that to a minimum and organise games when most people are available - hence we need to let Mike know when we are unavailable - including when people are playing other matches in other teams/sports. My main worry is that we have made a commitment to play in the league and we have made funding applications on the strength of this commitment - especially on the senior team front. So we need to be sure that when people say they want to play in the team they have to be prepared to commit to this as much as possible. Also, if we pull a team the club will be fined by the league and our funding (if we get it) would be in doubt. Having said all that, I am hopeful that we can also recruit new people to the sport once we get the ball rolling - sorry the ball flying.

Yeah Gordon you are spot on, it is supposed to be fun and its getting less and less fun for me every week.......harsh maybe but Im being honest here.
People seem more worried about what colour of shirts we are getting and what design they are than turning up at training.
Two weeks ago I knocked back overtime on a Sunday cos we had training....the result??.......five people bothered their arses to show up........an absolute disgrace........I certainly cant see me knocking back working again.
Attitudes will have to change, I know the hard work that Gordon has put into the application for the grant, and we arent looking for backslapping, just a wee bit of dedication. Remember, if the team pulls out of the league, that will be it for Senior football up here, I certainly would not enter a team again and the SFFA wouldnt entertain it. I had to give guarantees that the club would fulfill fixtures so the buck stops with me I suppose.....
Not everyone is included in this rant, there are players at the club who are dedicated and are commited but they will be the ones to suffer because if we have to go through the shambles of pulling the team out again....then that Im afraid, will be the final straw for me
