Brett Favre informed the Packers on Tuesday that he will definitely play the 2006 season in Green Bay, league and team sources have told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
Favre shared his decision with general manager Ted Thompson and head coach Mike McCarthy in a telephone conversation on Tuesday morning, the sources said.
Neither Favre, Thompson nor McCarthy was available for immediate comment. Bus Cook, Favre's agent, did not return phone inquiries.
Favre has said previously that if he decides to play in 2006 it will be his final season in the NFL.

Look for G-bay to pick up Vernon Davis i think. They will need a weapon on offence to make Favre happy. If Javon Walker is goin then they are loosing one. It will be tough for any linebackers to cover Davis. They'd maybe have to pull a big corner to cover him or keep a safety right on him.
