Playoff teams set in NFL draft
NFL.com wire reports
NEW YORK (Feb. 15, 2006) -- Following is the updated order of the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft, reflecting the results of the 2005 NFL playoffs and Super Bowl.
Priority of playoff clubs within a tied segment is based on their advancement in the playoffs, but they do not drop out of their tied segment unless they participate in the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl champion Steelers will select 32nd and the runner-up Seahawks 31st.
The tie between Oakland and San Francisco for the sixth and seventh positions will be broken by a coin flip.
The NFL draft will be held on April 29-30.
The draft order is determined by weakness of schedule in the case of ties in the standings, and head-to-head games have no bearing.
