As Nelson from The Simpsons might say Haaaa Haaaa
Wide receiver Terrell Owens has lost his arbitration case. Owens will remain suspended for this Sunday's game against Green Bay.
Head coach Andy Reid did not know of the decision during his Wednesday press conference. Reid said that he will comment later in the day. Stay tuned to PhiladelphiaEagles.com all day for the latest.
Free safety Brian Dawkins said Wednesday that the Owens situation will not be a distraction to the team.
"To me, it's been over for a while," Dawkins said.
Defensive tackle Darwin Walker is focused on the team ending its four-game losing streak this Sunday against Green Bay.
"I'm more concerned about football games (than T.O.)," said Walker. "All we can do is try to win with the guys we have in the locker room. That's the bottom line."
Owens was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team on Nov. 5, prior to the Eagles game against Washington. A day after the Eagles lost to the Redskins 14-10, Reid announced that Owens' suspension was extended for three more games and that he would not join the team once the suspension ended.
"This decision is a result of a large number of situations that have accumulated over a long period of time in which Terrell had been warned repeatedly about the consequences of his actions," said Reid on Nov. 7. "Even with the activities that took place last week, we gave Terrell every opportunity to avoid this outcome."
The NFL Players Association filed a grievance on behalf of Owens to reduce the suspension. The hearing before Bloch took place at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott on Nov. 18. The hearing lasted nearly 14 hours.
Owens was suspended after he lashed out at Eagles management and quarterback Donovan McNabb during an interview with ESPN that week. He gave a brief apology the day before he was suspended, but it wasn't enough.
Owens held a press conference after Reid handed out the four-game suspension and gave a much more thorough apology to Eagles management and McNabb.
