Eh! Shaun...we were only joking about keeping the stats. But I can confirm that you were indeed a threat to JF!!!

I'd be well up for a Kitted team, i think if it were set up over i kinda long term plan then uit could be succesful, especially if we were to run in close kind of co-ordination with the Uni's of Aberdeen as this would entice people from other places to come to Aberdeen to play and also it would get newbies to come laong. The full time training thing would be a mojor problem though as commitment even for a falg team att the moment is pretty rubbish. But if the team were to get up and running and we did well, then more and more people would join in on the fun a.k.a Glory Hunters!! This dude has obviously had to face problems before and i think if we helped him maybe during our next off season when things are less hectic, it would be a pretty good(however ambtious it is) plan of action to undertake!

All well and good, but you need the commitment 110% from players, coaches and support staff.........all reasons (along with others that I wont go into) that the Oilers folded. they went from a 60 man roster to a 25 man roster in three years.
Lets put it this way, its gonna cost around £3,000 this season for travel alone for Oilcats games....and thats a conservative estimate. I really dont think some people realise how much work goes on behind the scenes to run this club, and its a major slap in the face to get only 5 players turn up for the second training session of the year, it certainly makes you think "is it all worth it?"
I , and Im sure Gordon havs better things to do with my time on a Sunday than stand about waiting for people to turn up as they cant even be arsed letting me know that they wont be there. A couple of people are absolved from last week cos they did have the courtesy to inform me that they wouldnt be there.
To be honest, Im dissapointed in the lack of commitment, if people dont want to train or play, then thats fine, but let the club know, I dont want to go down the route of last season when we had to pull a team out, it was embarassing for the club and unfair on people like Mike and Terry who made every session (almost) without the promise of a game on the Sunday .
Ok ive gone on a bit but I aint happy with the situation of people busting a gut to get Kits, Child protection, rosters, registration, funding etc in order only to be let down on a Sunday

Fair Enuf Gordon
I was quite interested at the prospect for a kitted team in the granite city but I do believe that if we were to commit fully towards a team it would be 2 years at a min till it's up and running.
One other thing, will you (Dave) and Gordon decide prior to our first Game who plays where or will the positions remain fairly open? I'm only askin cos I only joined at the end of the season last year n i dunno how you worked things last year!

I agree it may not be a possipility, i must amit im biest towards having a kit team because i was in the one last year.i know when you transform into kit, it looses alot of the fun factor and it becomes like a second job(hr wise and comitment wise) i have also seen no. fall in th dolphins from 45-50 to around 20 or so.
we had the paulin's who worked at it constantally to make it work.robbie, the son, didnt work and was in college doing coaching, but most for the time he was coaching the football teams and and aranging meetings. i didnt meen to get evoryones hopes up, i just wanted to see what everyones ideas on it were

Tom , I know the Paulins and I also know that no one works harder possibly in Scotland than them to spread the word and the game. They have done an amazing job up there and I admire them...its thanks to people like them that there are kitted teams in the UK.....and you are right, it is a full time job, christ its almost a full time job with the Oilcats as I said before, and as I get busier at (real)work im finding it harder and harder to find enough hours in the day
