Hi, new to this forum and the city, was wondering if the oilcats are still going and whether i could come and train with you? Big NFL fan, play padless back home all the time and really want to get back in the game!
Cheers

Hi Sharpski, Thanks for you interest in joining the team. We are always on the lookout for new players so please feel free to come along! We're currently on our winter break, but will be starting training again on the 1st February, 1.30pm at Inchgarth Community Centre and will be every Sunday (weather permitting) from then on with the league season starting around April-time. You can get directions to Inchgarth on our website at www.aberdeenoilcats.com/2007venue.html although for more specific ones from where you live you might want to try putting the Community Centre's address into Google Maps or www.theaa.co.uk - The Centre's address is: Inchgarth Community Centre Aboyne Place Garthdee Aberdeen AB10 7DR. If by any chance the weather looks a bit iffy on the 1st (Snow/Very Heavy rain), or indeed any other week, then we will post a notice on these forums by 11am at the latest on the Sunday morning if training is cancelled. No notice means training is on as usual. Hopefully though the weather will hold out and we won't have any problems! If you need to get in touch with me on the day you can do so by calling my mobile on 07725529999. Hopefully we'll see you at training sometime. In the meantime, if you have any questions please feel free to ask! Cheers, Mike

Haribo! Course you can! Always glad to have more players! See the above post for training times and venue (it's changed since the last time you were with us), etc.
If you need any help getting there just let me know.
Cheers,
Mike

The no. 1 and no. 2 (RED LINE) buses stop on Garthdee Road outside the RGU Garthdee Campus (the number 9 also does, but I don't think it runs on a Sunday). I've attached a map below showing where the bus stops are and where to go once you get off the bus: You can get bus times from the link below: www.firstgroup.com/ukbus/scotland/nescot/timetables/timetable.php?day=3&source_id=2&service=1/1A/2/2A&routeid=65751&operator=19&source=sp(Please note the 1 turns into the number 2 and vice-versa on Garthdee Road - so both eventually make it there - despite what it says on the timetable!) The 1 and the 2 both stop at the Castlegate and on Union Street outside Cruise and G-Star (accross from the Music Hall). They also stop at Holburn Junction. It takes them about 10-15mins to get down to Garthdee Road. Alternatively, gimme a call or text on 07725529999 before Sunday and I might be able to pick you up in town about 1:15pm if that suits you better! Cheers and see you on Sunday, Mike

I think you'll need to be little bit clearer than that Mikey, how about having a word with the council and get a half dozen signs put up along the route on a separate note, do you know what the word 'overkill' means lol

I was bored! And couldn't sleep! Plus I started trying to write out directions and it quickly turned into an essay, so thought the overhead photo would be easier! Signs would be good though, I'll speak to my peeps at the council!! Something like this, yeah? ;D Mike
