Hope the cheeries are with us for away games as well as home, wouldn't mind sharing a bus with them on the way down ;D. Just careful none of them see this thread, they may decide to change their minds I don't think we're the first Flag team to have cheerleaders though, last year, in november I was staying overnight in Inverness with some friends. We stayed at the Youth Hostel next to Millburn High School (I think that's the name, the one not too far from train station). Anyway, while we were there, a football team, or some sort I from the central belt were there, with raiders, falcons and chargers fans amongst them. They looked to be between 15-17. They also had cheerleaders up with them, about the same age. The two groups were put into separate parts of the hostel. We were lucky enough to be on same floor as the cheerleaders ( ). We also saw them practising (the cheerleaders, that is ) on the landing at bottom of stairs. Should let our new 'talents' ( ) know they can travel with us too. ;D ;D If it happened to be a flag team, then that would mean BAFA/SFFA can't stop us. It's not like we can't bring 'supporters' along with us to our games. Anyway, I'm going to scour through the BAFA and SFFA sites to see if they have any rules on this, just to be sure So....have we an officially binding contract with them .

Calm down!!!
We are at a very early stage of discussions with the Cheerleading squad. However, we hope that we can sort something out to the benefit of both clubs.
The Granite City Oilers had Cheerleaders and they did a lot to promote the club and the game in general.
And, remember if we can set up a linkup it may also result in us gaining some female players/coaches/refs.

Im lovin the idea and all still. Will be good for them aswell as us for a laugh. But the idea of them going to away games is a bit uneconomical and silly really.

I was only dreaming out loud, I know we wouldn't have them on away games, just saying they're more than welcome to support us. Would also be good to get a few female players as you say. Would toughen up the team. ;D Seriously though, it would be deffo good for promoting the team, the council would be a lot more behind a mixed-gender sports team, especially when you think we're usually so divided when it comes to the other sports. It would also be good for team spirits, if by some freak chance we're taking a hiding or, god forbid, lose:o a match, then you can usually count on females to keep on smiling. And remember that posts on this site can still be read by anyone, so keep this thread (and yourselves) under control and not give them a reason to say NO. Oh, and start thinking up individual player chants for them to use during game. Something like this to the tune of 'Hey Mickey' 'Hey dougie, you're so small, you're so small yet run the ball, go dougie, go dougie' Or to the tune of 'Who ate all the pies' 'Who's at quarterback, who's at quarterback, looks like Froddo, looks up 'Oh no', he just got a sack' ;D ;D If you give me a while I could have one for each player, probably not worth bothering though. Just out off mindless curiosity, wouldn't you be an Oilcat Pro, before an Oilcat Veteran? Just got bored so thought I'd say something.
