Guys,
At present, we are looking for new jerseys for this season. Simple enough, we will source out jerseys with different styles and prices. The colours we are going for is Red with some black or white through it.
The main subject i want replies on is a polo shirt for traveling/arriving to games. The coaching staff are looking to be getting polo shirts with the oilcats logo on it. What we want to know is if you guys would like in on this. The idea would be a plain polo with the oilcats logo, and you guys can have your player numbers on the other side? Let me know what you guys think of that, and we will take it from there. We tried to get jerseys last year, but there was a lack of response which put an end to it. Its your team guys, so help me us out!

Well I think that everyone would like to see what kind of options we have for both playing jerseys and polo shirts. I dont really think it was a lack of response last year as we did actually bring it up quite often into conversation, but it wasn't our place to press for them.

I sent off to collegejersey.co.uk for quotes for jerseys a few weeks ago but am yet to hear anything back. I do have another email adress for their UK rep though, so might give that a try this week! As for the polo shirts, we could probably do them through cafepress, although I also got an email from www.kitlocker.co.uk last week asking if we'd like to set up an account with them. I'll try and chase up the jerseys this week, meanwhile, if anyone knows any other good places to get jerseys let me know. We're realistically looking at spending £20-£25 per jersey, so both americansportsuk and Rhino are probably out. I thought we were going for white jerseys this year so that we could use the red ones as away kits, would make sense. (Or were you meaning red for the polo tops?) Cheers, Mike

home and away is surely not neccesary....right? I don't ever want to wear that red jersey again.
There is no reason to limit ourselves on budget yet, lets gather some quotes and take it from there.
As for polos I'm easy, it does make me wonder that if we are happy to cough up for polo shirts why not keep that money and invest in some serious jerseys that will last.
I too will source some quotes and post some prices with pics if possible.

Thanks Adam, that would be great!
The reason for the budget for jerseys is that we usually sell them on to players if they want to buy them. That way the club can recoup some of the money it spends and doesn't have to worry about players leaving the club and taking the jerseys with them and the club making a loss (once a player has bouht their jersey it's theirs to keep). For that reason, we've got to think about how much people would actually be willing to pay for their club jersey, and from experience £20-£25 tends to be an acceptable amount.
Also, whilst the club has a lot more money than we did at this time last year, we can't just start throwing it at things, as we need to be able to pay for travel, etc still.
Obviously, if we can get a shirt sponsor then we can afford to spend more on the jerseys, but at the moment there's a big difference price-wise between 25-30 jerseys at £20 a pop and 25-30 jerseys at £40 a pop.
As for the polos, I would guess that guys pay for them as they want them, so the cost to the club would be minimal at most!

Here are the designs I'm waiting to get quotes for: As for the polo shirts, this is what we currently sell at the Oilcats shop, though I could easily do up a new design if need be. www.cafepress.com/oilcats.13001421Mike

Lol..The designs I did are no way set in stone, so I'm happy for anyone to come up with anything else. The ones I did are based on the price structure of designs that we can afford. I don't mean to be a stickler about this, but we do really need to be aware of how much we're spending on these.
That is, of course, unless anyone can find us a sponsor, in which case we can begin to look at spending more.
Anyways, glad to see that things are moving on a bit, thanks for getting that sorted Adam. If you want you can email me your design and I'll get it upload so eveyone can see.

Below is an email from college jerseys, I am aware this is pretty steep but it gives us an idea of what we are looking at. They have cheaper jerseys available.
some thoughts please?

#88 (number of times....who the hell is this doug guy and why does he think he can come back?)
Ok
With numbers front and back the price is 35.00GBP
TV Numbers adds 2.00GBP per jersey
Postage is 3GBP Per jersey
There is also a 30.00GBP charge per box to cover Duty charges. 20 jerseys will fit easily into just one box.
So you are looking at
830.00GBP all in for 20 Jerseys – including the TV Numbers.
Regards
Ben

Thanks Adam,
Whilst it's a bit more expensive than we were hoping for, it's still good in that we know how much extras such as TV numbers and postage cost now.
Would you be able to have a look at what you can do with one of the cheaper base designs - like the £25 ones? You don't need to send it to the guy from College Jersey just yet, we can see what we can come up with and decide at training - this week possibly? - what to go for.
We're probably gonna need to get about 25 jerseys in the end, so that we don't end up having to order new ones again in a year's time because we don't have enough to cover new people coming along.
Can everyone please have a serious think about how much you'd be willing to pay for a jersey. As I've said before we will be giving people the opportunity to buy their jerseys, although this is completely optional, but this will also have an impact on how much we can spend on them, as the club needs to make as much money back as possible!
It would be great if we could get this sorted out in the next couple of weeks as it takes around 6 weeks to get the jerseys from the time of order!

OK guys, after discussion with college jersey.co.uk they would be able to offer UNLV jerseys for £20 a pop plus all the above charges. Please follow the link provided where you will see that these jerseys are our team colours. I need to know by close of play sunday what we want to do with these. www.nationalchamps.net/2005/sub/previews/unlv.htmadds

They look pretty darn nice!!
We would need to cover the team logo and any NCAA logos (not allowed in BAFA sanctioned leagues), but I'm sure I read somewhere on the College Jersey website that they can provide patches for covering these.
I'm still in favour of getting white jerseys, but I'd happily go for these even though they're red!
Good work Adam, hopefully we can make a decision by Sunday.
Anyone who isn't going to be there on Sunday but wants to share their opinion please do so here before training.
