Scott appears to have effectively exchanged QBs (Alex Smith and Vince Young) between his two teams, despite giving assurances at the start of the season that he would not do things like this! Is he trying to be the Bill Belichick of Fantasy Football? Hopefully the League Commissioner (Mike!) has spotted this infringement and will take appropriate action.

that's a bit cheap Scotty, at least Belichick only controls one team

I hadn't noticed this one actually sorry. I will investigate it further..
Probably the best thing to do is to have a vote on whether or not we think Scott should be allowed to make this trade, although we'll have to vote quickly as Scott will need to know who he can play for this Sunday.
What does everyone think?

Ok I've had a look at this, and Mr. Dyker has been very sneaky! Lol.
Scott I'm going to give you a chance to explain yourself on this one. Technically you haven't traded the players, but you had control over releasing and then re-signing them for alternate teams, which at the end of the day constitutes the same thing. I applaud you for finding a loophole in the rules, but I have to request that you undo the changes made (including the moving of Troy Smith also) in the spirit of the league, unless there is serious support from anyone else in the league to allow these roster moves to stand? Or if you can submit a good enough reason for making these moves.

lol - Mark, you got it in one! ;D Mike - great post, what a pity that you are not commissioner of certain other Leagues! Effectively what Scott has done is to send the back up QB (Vince Young) from one of his teams to assist his other team against Stu's Berryden Blitz on Sunday. This is exactly the sort of behaviour Scott himself complained about from Lewis in 2005 and Gary in 2006! I suggest Scott undoes these "trades". You might want to pass on the $500,000 fine exercised on Bill B, but Scott should definitely be made to wear the "bib of shame" at training this Sunday!

Changed them back guys Vince young is back to his original team and so is Alex Smith. But it wasnt a trade i risked losing them if somebody was on the league homepage. Also Mikey if you had the waver move in the league i wouldnt have done it.Anyway i wasnt cheating i was singing players through free agency. Are trades between my 2 teams not allowed ?

it's not that you can't trade between your 2 teams, it just has to be fair. For example, I'm not likely to get TO for Jason Avant from Gary, but Glenn Holt for Avant is a bit more likely (in theory, not actually suggesting it). But if I had 2 teams, and made the Avant-TO trade, that would be pretty sneaky, unless I included another player that makes the trade more even. (anyone who's played Madden knows that trades have to be balanced or the other team won't accept) We're not out to get you Scotty, but it's unfair to do something you complained about before. With all trades, Mikey has overall say if it's alright, but by using FA to switch your players around, the commish isn't involved. But if you're a bit upset Scotty then you can have my Pats D to make you feel as much like Belichick as you want, just give me Ravens D and Delhomme and we'll talk

Hats off to Scott for doing the decent thing! Nobody actually suggested that he was cheating. The Fantasy Football League is a bit of fun, and lets hope nobody starts taking it too seriously. I suggest that anyone with two teams in an Oilcats League agrees not to make trades between his teams (saves Mike having to make impossible decisions about what is a "fair" trade), and leaves a 48 hour gap between releasing a player from one team and signing him to his other team. Ian PS Apologies to Gary for the slur - he is correct and I should have checked last season's posts first.

I am a little concerned for week 6 as both scottys teams face off, which presently his poorer team has (at the moment) 4 starters on a bye week and an empty QB position. I think you can probably guess what am going to rant about so i'll spare the long story and allow scotty to fix this accordingly ;D ;D Unlucky this week Marc

He's probably just taking his time to decide between Young or Campbell for QB...and Maroney or Dunn at RB...but hopefully he won't 'forget' to sort it by Sunday. Good thing he can move Cotchery to WR, then add Baker to W/T and Holt and Hilliard, that way he can field an entire team without any bye week problems. he's quite lucky there. It must be nice to be able to have 2 teams at full strength, makes for an interesting game.
As far as this past week's game, I was voting with my head. At the time I voted I had Brown and Akers on bye, and Johnson, Heap, Tillman and Briggs as Questionable. To be fair, I made a decent effort to fill some of those holes with Kaeding and Williams, but I still lost as I expected. The ironic thing is that Briggs and Tillman started, with Briggs getting, um, 16 tackles! Needless to say, if I had simply just started Briggs, I would have won without needing to make any other moves tho that wasn't as bad as benching Big Ben on Week 1 (30pts ) oh well, Week 6 isn't as painful looking as it might have been.

Shaun is quite right to raise concerns about next Sunday's "Scotty Bowl". Hopefully the League Commissioner will step in now and declare the contest a tie!

Don't worry guys, I will monitor the situation and if I feel that the result of this game (or indeed any other result in the league other than Scott's two teams) are being influenced by questionable team selections I will act to rectify this.
After having looked at Scott's two teams that he has selected for this week I see nothing that presently alarms me. There are a couple of players who I would possible choose to play instead of others, but that is a matter of opinion depenent on that particular player's respective match-up.
On a slightly different note, if anyone is ever unable to make changes to their team for whatever reason (e.g. lack of access to a computer), if they let me know before 6pm on Sundays I can change their team accordingly.

To be fair to Scotty, we kinda jumped the gun a bit there. In the end of the day, it's a harmless bit of fun, so doesn't really matter how the results fall (or why).
Indeed having a couple of bits of 'controversy' adds to the realism. So I don't think any result should be looked into too seriously (unless it's too unfair). After all, who's to say REFS TEAM wouldn't beat a full strength Bucksburn Patriots anyway. Or even a 'weakened' Patriots beating REFS due to injuries/performance (unlikely but it's the point I'm making).
What happens, happens. So just let it unfold.
