picking up the lingo already "uno pinto beero!" Hola Fry!!! Surely You mean "Quisiera una cerveza, por favor." or "Estoy borracho y necesito un taxi. ¿Podría usted llamar por teléfono para uno, por favor?"

Could just go to an Irish Pub or something like that, there's millions of them in Spain and Portugal. Would save the hassle

It's actually
'Una pinta di birra' Italian
'Una pinta de cerveza' Spanish (I'm sure they'd understand, but locals appreciate if tourists can speak a little Spanish)
cerveza is actually pronounced 'ther-bee-tha' (or something like that, i know the 'v' is prounounced the same as 'b' anyway. Just ask your folks when go, it it'd be easier)
I'll be in Germany in September so for me it's
'Eine pinte des Biers'

yeah I know, it only started when he was wanting to ask for a beer in spanish, I just thought he'd be more likely to succeed if he new the actual phrase rather than saying 'uno pinto beero', if you said that to a Spanish barman he might think you're taking the proverbial piss by just adding 'o' to each word thinking it's good enough. Think about it, foreigners take the time to learn a bit of english before they come here, it can be pretty insulting if a brit were to presume that if you speak english the locals would understand, if taking wrong way. Although if you were to ask for 'uno pinto beero' I'm sure they'd understand and appreciate that you're trying to speak spanish, they are also more likely to reply in English, if they can, as they'd be able to tell you're british. Also remember to say that you're NOT english, but scottish, some foreign locals, prefer Scots to English because of things like football hooligans, etc. Everyone loves Scottish folk, haven't been to a place yet where I've not been asked if I'm english, but instantly become a lot more cheery when i've said im Scottish. I think we can drop the spanish stuff though, not really much to do with fun day is it.

p.s ein großes Bier bitte I'll be in cologne, so it i'll be: 'ein Kölsch (Koelsch), bitte' Kölsch is the only beer they drink there, it's cheaper than water and a lot cheaper than coca-cola. You don't even need to ask for it, it's naturally assumed you'll have one (if you're the right age ). They hold it in as high regard as champange, I'll definately be having a couple each day, will be HOT in august (september was a mistake), it's served nice and cold. Will let you know of my thoughts after I come back. Might be in a bit of a state if have too much, still, I might hallucinate that I'm TO, so I'll what a £3million contract after then. ;D ;D

Surely a good phrase would be:
¡OYE!! Las damas, miran el bote de Raul arriba y hacia abajo
That's spanish for:
'HEY!!! Ladies, watch Raul bounce up and down'
;D ;D ;D ;D
