Just in case anyone is interested, I know its a long way off but this sounds like a good weekend
World Bowl '96 10th Anniversary Events
23rd June 2006 marks 10 years to the day of the Claymores winning their only World Bowl. TouchdownClaymores.com and the Scottish Gridiron Association are planning a series of events for football fans centred around that weekend. All events will be based in Edinburgh just like World Bowl '96. Plans are at an early stage right now but over the coming months further details will be announced as they become available.
Currently what we have planned is:
Friday 23rd June 2006:
Welcome party, venue TBC. This is the light introduction to the weekend for people travelling from further afield and locally to get together for a drink together. A great chance to reacquaint yourselves with friends from across Europe.
Saturday 24th June 2006:
SGA Football Festival. Venue TBC. The SGA will host a day of football of all levels from flag through to senior kitted (TBC). If there is sufficient interest, a fans flag tournament could be arranged between fans of each NFLE team.
10th Anniversary Fan Party. The main fan event. This will be similar in style to previous World Bowl fan parties with beer, music, beer, party, beer and hopefully space to throw a football around if that's what floats your boat.
Sunday 25th June 2006:
Chill out brunch. As has become traditional at recent World Bowls, the morning after chillout brunch to relax before heading home.
More details
Further details will be posted on this site as soon as they are available. Tickets for the 10th Anniversary Fan Party will be on sale from this site in the New Year.
The date is fixed so please pass the details around. It would be great to see as many fans from all over the UK and Europe here as possible for one last time to celebrate the life of the Scottish Claymores.
