From the SFFA Website:
SDS announce dates
Since 2003 the SDS has been providing SFFA club players the opportunity to play at national level. The structure of the SDS has improved over the past few years and this was down to some great work from Charlie Ewing and his staff. I am now the SDS head coach and hope to continue to build on the great foundation that Charlie has laid down. I would like to invite coaches to send what they consider to be their best players and who they think would be capable of playing and learning at national level to the SDS trials.
I would like to see every club represented as it is a great development opportunity for the sport. If any coaches are wishing to become involved with the SDS I would encourage them to get in touch with me to discuss how they can become part of the squad. The SDS dates are as follows:
TRIALS 25 March 12:30pm(SHARP)-3pm Forthbank, Stirling
PRACTICE 22 April 10:30am(SHARP)-4pm Forthbank, Stirling
PRACTICE 10 June 10:30am(SHARP)-4pm Forthbank, Stirling
PRACTICE 21 October 10:30am(SHARP)-4pm Forthbank, Stirling
SCOTLAND @ ENGLAND
4-5 November
Coaches should send a list of names to me (info@invernessblitz.co.uk) as soon as possible with their date of birth and BAFA number. Players wishing to be part of the squad for 2006 must attend the trials on the 25 March and attend all practices*.
Players are advised to wear their full club uniform to the practice and take pen and paper. If full club uniform is not available players should wear plain blue, white or grey. The practice will be on astroturf so appropriate footwear should be worn. Gum-shields are mandatory and clothing must not have pockets. There will be a charge of £3 that players must pay to try out. If selected there will be a charge of £3 at each practice.
IMPORTANT: All players must have a completed SDS consent form at the trials on the 25 March and have it signed by their parents. Any player without this form will not be allowed to participate. These forms are available for download from the SFFA website (www.sffa.org.uk). If you have trouble downloading the form please contact me on the number below.
As players will be representing at this high level of performance they will be expected to show enthusiasm, dedication and good communication skills. They must answer emails, letters and phone calls clearly and efficiently as a good team is based on good communication! We will also be expecting them to give continued dedication to their local team as well.
For any further information please feel free to contact me on 01463 24 24 31.
Thanks,
Robbie Paulin
SDS Head Coach
*SDS coaches can select players if their reasons for not attending the trials or subsequent practice was valid.
NOTE: Age groups are the same as SFFA league
