and that's why you can never rule out the Eagles. Man what a game, that's a Superbowl-contending offence for sure. It may be against Detroit, but they're an improved team from past seasons. And the D clicked on most of the drives, apart from the 1st Detroit TD we never really let up until the game had been decided (2 mins before half time ;D) I couldn't believe it when I saw each of our first 5 drives end with a TD. And what a performance by Kevin Curtis, think the Rams want him back now? What makes this even sweeter is that all 4 of FOX pre-game show predicted a Detroit win. Get it up yooo

that's a Superbowl-contending offence for sure. Been living under a rock for weeks 1 and 2 though Marc? Obviously I'm not saying that are not a team to be reckoned with, but they still have something to prove after 2 piss-poor games and 1 big offensive performance.

As Stu said.....one big performance does not get you to the SB....they have a BIG game next week in NY against the improving Giants. That said it was one hhell of a performance by McChoke and anytime you put up 51 points has to be impressive..............maybe it was because the Lions couldnt stop laughing at those uniforms Dallas on the other hand went onto Chi-Town and whipped the Bears asses. With TNew only playing nickel, Ellis and Glenn to come back from injury and Tank available after the bye week things are looking up. I just hope that they dont take the Rams too lightly this weekend and look towards the Pats coming to Dallas on week6.........that will be a test to see how far the Cowboys can go. Saying that Romo has dealt with Strahan and Osi in week 1, Taylor and Thomas in week 2 and Urlacher and company on week 3 and put up impressive numbers

yeah Stu, we were poor in our first 2 games, but it was always gonna take a little time for McNabb to get back to his usual self. My point is that if we can play like that with a QB making his 3rd start since the injury and without Smith, Dawkins and Sheppard, then what will we be like at full strength?
If Curtis and McNabb develop on that partnership and with Westbrook in the backfield then we arguably have a better chance than the 2004 team. NY will be a big game in proving if Sunday was a fluke or not, but I am extremely confident about our chances this year.
True we won't score 8 TDs every game, but at it's best our O is on a level with Colts, Pats and Chargers and our D is better than last year, so we'll be there or thereabouts in post-season. The NFC East is definately stronger than last year, but so are we, it's gonna be one enthralling season for sure

Eagles might be with out Westbrook for the Giants game he is day to day with an abdominal strain. I dont how you can say that your O is on par with the Patriots or Colts, you beat up on that great Lions defense big deal.Wait till you play a team with a good defense before u can say that about your O.

Well................I heard a whisper last night and again this morning that McNabb could be on his way home......to play in Chicago. As far as Im led to believe, the Bears have had enough of "Wrecks" Grossman and want McNabb. The Eagles are still smarting from McNabbs outburst last week.........the stumbling block is the trade value

If you read what I said Scotty, I said at our best we are at Pats and Colts level, I didn't say we are at that level all the time, far from it. 1 game does not make a season, it takes 16 games to get to post-season. but in any sport, the one sign of a championship-caliber team is putting in a good performance after a spell of bad ones. They should also be able to 'win ugly'. The Colts arn't exactly lighting up the NFL performance-wise. Grinding out wins again past Titans and Texans. But they're still 3-0 But the other sign of a great team is consistency, playing at the same level, week in week out regardless of opponent. That's why the Pats are also 3-0, scoring 38 pts each week against teams as diverse as Jets, Chargers and Bills. I'm not saying that Eagles are 'there' yet, but we have all the right tools to help us get there. Top 5 QB, versitile and dangerous RB, WRs that make all the plays and a D that can operate well without key players. We also have coaches that are among the best in the NFL. Mornhinweg and Johnson could easily be HCs in this league, and Reid is as good as HCs come. If we play as well as we did on Sunday, then we'll definately be challenging for an SB spot. Apart from 05 we've been pretty consistent getting wins, so you deffo can't count us out, that's for sure. But in the end, we'll see how it unfolds, but cut me some slack if I enjoy my team's success ay? (back to good old 'Timmer-posts' )

Hey.....strange as this might seem but I agree with Marc
he takes stick when the Eagles lose.....he's allowed to come in and big them up when they win....same as all of us.
Me..................IMO the Cowboys offense is THE best in the league......scoring 34 points against the Bears kinda makes you think that way....but it could all fall to pieces against the Rams on Sunday

Now I've been an Eagles fan for about a decade now and I haven't seen such a big score from them in that time until now. The closest was when they hammered the Cowboys in 2003 ( had to have a dig ). Anyway I'm not going to get too carried away because guess who we played in our last Superbowl? Uh huh and look how good they are just now. Now I think we see the problem about going to the Superbowl.

...someone warm me up a serving of humble pie please, oh and send Andy Reid the beginner's guide to scoring TDs in the Redzone while you're at it.
This might be one of 'those' seasons. Still can't rule us out of playoffs this early (given our 'potential' for scoring quick TDs), but it's gonna be no easy ride getting thru the NFC East.
