I've heard that Young is pure athletic talent and not much of a passer - the kinda guy who may need a lot of grooming. Would they be going for him as a means of just saying "ok, we have been too conservative (and rubbish) with Carr, lets go for something with some pazazz!"
Can you gimmie some more background on this guy at all? Some stats and interesting things to say?

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) -- Vince Young bounced on his toes, trying to buy himself some time and searching frantically for a way to win a championship.
And then he took off.
With the national title down to a final play, fourth down and 5 yards to go, Young scrambled untouched for an 8-yard touchdown with 19 seconds left and the No. 2 Longhorns stunned No. 1 Southern California 41-38 in the Rose Bowl on Wednesday night.
"Do whatever it takes," Young said.
He did it all -- and made sure that Texas was second no more to USC and its Heisman Trophy twins, Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart.
It was the ultimate revenge for Young, the bitterly disappointed runner-up to Bush for the Heisman Trophy last month.
At the Heisman presentation, Young had a blank stare and reluctantly clapped after he lost in a landslide to Bush. After winning the biggest team prize of all, he beamed with a satisfied smile, hugging anyone he could find.
On a night when he ran for 200 yards and passed for 267 more, Young capped a performance that Texas fans will remember forever by scoring his third TD and running for a 2-point conversion to end Southern Cal's 34-game winning streak and deny the Trojans an unprecedented third straight national championship.
"It's so beautiful," Young said as he received the MVP crystal. "Don't you think that's beautiful? It's coming home all the way to Austin, Texas."

Youngs season stats can be found sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=135107Ive seen him a couple of times, against Colorado he was brilliant, against Texas A&M he struggled. Hes only a junior so he might not even come out this year, I dunno if hes declared or not, but IMO he should stay for his senior year. He hardly ever operates under center preferring the shotgun and looks a lot like Mike Vick when he takes off and runs.....which he does a hell of a lot............

Quite impressive. I'd like to see a player like him, he'd be more exciting than Vick I think. I mean, Vick just isn't as exciting anymore as everyone gives him credit for. You have to wait for Vick to be exciting.

No, Vick like McNabb, is over the whole running thing and is trying to be a quarterback. Ok, McNabb did a reasonable job up until this year, but Vick just isnt a QB, if running is his strength, let him run, dont try and make him pass when he cant!

Speaking of the Vick family........Marcus is a sure thing to enter thr draft this year, its been talked about on a Cowboys board about the Cowboys taking him maybe in round 5........but he comes with a lot of baggage

Apparently Texans are saying they are going to take Bush regardless of what Vince Young decides to do.

Good thing is that he will push players down though.....depends really on teams if they take what they need or best player available.

Young would be a MUCH better pick for the Texans!! Ok so everyone's calling Reggie Bush the next Barry Sanders, and he is something special, but the Texans aren't the right team for him. Vince Young may have just saved the Texans from making a huge mistake, because now they have huge get-out clause from the whole Reggie Bush dilemma. Up until the Rose Bowl, Bush was the populat choice, and possibly still is, but now he has competition and the Texans actually have an opportunity to take someone else without the whole board getting lynched. Plus with a trade down and the fact that teams will be crawling over each other for Reggie Bush they can get a 2nd or 3rd round pick out of it, meaning they can work on that offensive line! It just hasn't been right since their plans went awol after Tony Boselli couldn't recover from his injury. Bottom line is that Houston has a good running back in Domanic Davis and good back-ups in Hollings and Wells, and they will get better with improvements to the offensive line. Carr is Dallas would also be great to see. Remember Daivd Carr was a no1 pick who had to start from day one of his first season and carry the Texans, whilst having defenders permanently in his face (Hence the record high number of sacks against Houston that season). He's a good quarterback though, and give him time to learn and back-up and learn from a guy like Bledsoe, even for only half a season and then step in maybe, and Carr's career could get turned around. As for the Gore and Bush thing, I can't really take credit for it, read it somewhere the other week lol! Mikey

Just read the second page of this thread lol, forgot before I was still on page 1! That's a shame about Marcus Vick, especially after seeing a few years ago what people were saying about him as he was coming out of high school and that he was better than Mike at that point. Perhaps he just let it affect him too much, all the publicity, people looking for him to be the next step on from Mike Vick. When you see something like that though it really shows how level headed Eli Manning has been, not getting caught up in people comparing him to his older brother. I'll tell you something though, the quality of QBs in the draft has suddenly risen with Vick and Jacobs entering the draft! Mikey
