Im lovin the love on this thread!! Right...I got the bit between my teeth now so here goes..... Reasons i detest the Eagles.....ahh where to start?? too damn many!! Buddy Ryan will do for starters, putting bountys on Cowboys kickers to try and purposly injure them, then there are the "fans" batterys in snowballs thrown at opposition players?? very sporting while im on the fans, werent they sporting when they cheered the injury that finished Michael Irvins career? which by the way was a direct cause of that concrete pitch they lovingly called "The Vet" ........Bobby Taylor?...worlds biggest cheap shot artist...TO? detested him when he was on a poor 49ers team (George Teague sorted him out though) and detest him now hes on the Eagles team (Roy sorted him out as well)...hes a moaning egotistic up his own arse tosser....good player he may be but I wouldnt want him to wear a star on his helmet, he causes trouble wherever he goes. Philly itself is grey and depressing and dodgy (ask Tom Hanks ;D).....city of Brotherly love?? aye that will be right It used to irk me the way that the Cowboys struggled against the Iggles....but we are in better shape than we have been for ages...think what you like but Bledsoe is an upgrade on Vinny.....we have depth at RB now and not Eddie George plodding along, possibly the best set of TE's in the league Tg back from injury along with Key and Morgan and an improving line (count the Pro Bowls) On defense, whatever Tuna plays the Cowboys have depth depth depth even now at safety if Hunter is moved there........on the flip side the Iggles have players holding out and a QB that falls apart in big games...man im looking forward to this season

Ok, maybe it was a bit stupid what i said. Sure pats would have still won SB, what i was meaning was that the re-introduction of TO after eagles were on a role without him was one reason why we lost. With TO back as main target for mcnabb he didn't spread ball around like before. He was always trying to force it to TO and hence, threw picks. The rhythm that we had before SB was lost. I can't speak about the things dave said, cos i've only supported them for a year, i don't care too much about off the pitch, i just wanna watch the team play well. And i wasn't being too serious about no one picking up TO, it's just that they would prefer him to leave his baggage at the airport, though they'd still pick him for the fact that he's such a great player. And as far as me wanting him to prove his worth, i was wanting him to shut up and bring us the SB next year. And i know we have other receivers, that's my point, with no TO mcnabb would be more likely to spread ball around, and we'd play as well as at end of last season. I'm not taking offence, but i'd rather you retract the 'retarded' comments, saying they're stupid is okay, but retarded is a bit harsh, all i was trying to say is that eagles would be just as good without TO as we are with him. SB was a freak match, our record before then was better than most, and we deserved to be there.

I did say no offence before it Marc ,it was just a figure of speech lol wasnt actually callin ya a retard. HOOOWWEVER , still dont agree about the 'other recievers' thing.... What about Jerry Rice for example, do you think his teams would have been better without him so their QB's could spread the Ball, or Michael Irvine, or any other great or good reciever?? Now im not comparing TO to Rice just yet, but you see where im comin from, h is by far better than any Freddie Mitchel!

Dallas would have not dominated without "The Playmaker"....jaysus we still havent replaced him, he drew the oppositions best cover corner and usually a safety as well....it made people like Harper and Ismail a lot more dangerous

Yeah, i don't think Dallas will ever replace him. As you said, when he went down Raghib Ismail seemed to just be useless. Irvine went down in 99 right? That was Ismails vest season in yardage. Then you look at the next 2 years and he only gets 3tds and not much over a thousand yards. This year Dallas will be relying on Defence more than ever to do the biz. We could have another Ravens or Bucs superbowl winners on our hands here - monster D, adequate O.

maybe we wouldn't be as good, but we were kind of written off reaching the SB after TO left, and although we had already made playoffs at that time, we were still able to get through playoffs, with the 'other receivers' getting some TDs, and I'm not comparing anyone in whole NFL as great as Rice was with Dallas, but even without TO we wouldn't be struggling for TDs, and Westbrook would get more runs, and hopefully catch more passes like the one that mcnabb zipped between two guys to him. and we don't need to worry about Mitchell at philly no more, you're right he's never gonna be like TO, and I wouldn't really want TO to leave, it's just I'm getting a bit fed up, along with the rest of you, about his moaning. If he would just focus solely on playing (when new season starts) and not bother with his bell-aching then that would suit everyone at philly. Just a quick question about Rice, what do think of Rice's decision to keep playing? And, don't take my views on NFL things too seriously, last season was the first season I had actually taken a serious interest in the game, so I'm not aware of past rivalries or all the great players of past. I have no back catalogue of NFL stats and things to use, I just make my opinions about what I know/think from this past season. So they might seem odd to those who have more knowledge of game.
stu's point about Dallas having adequate O, monster D was sort off what I was hoping might happen with eagles minus TO. without TO we'd need great D with an alright, but not spectacular O. Cos even without TO, we'd be a threat to score against most teams, yet our D would need to be better to compensate. That's my opinion anyway.

Rice with Dallas ? I think its a reach for Rice to carry on playing, all he can do is damage his reputation by playing on too long but time will tell.....it must be knida hard giving up on something that you have doan all your life though but this might be one season too many. Stu, the Cowboys O will be an improvement on last year, remember for big parts of the season Glenn Campbell and JJ were out.... thats starting RB, TE and WR add to that the fact that Vinny was never meant to be a starter till Quincy Carter started his Puff The Magic Dragon routine.....and Im happy with the upgrades.....maybe a wee bit of depth on the line is needed but if the young ones pan out then that will take care of that. It gives flexibility for one thing with Campbell being one of the best blocking TE's (the only thing that is missing in Wittens game) and as I said before having A Train as a legitimate back up for JJ As for the Iggles marc.....it always happens after a SB appearance, hold outs and the like, id they give in to TO's demands then it opens the floodgates and you are in Cap hell, like the Cowboys and 49ers a few years back and the Redskins right now

And Bledsoe is up for it as well
The last line being the most important, hes not being asket to carry the team like Vinny was

But he had a good running game in Buffalo surely? And some good recievers in Lee Evans and Eric Moulds? And not a bad O-line either. I just have a thing against Bledsoe now to be honest. Good guy and all, great team player, but past his best. Great for Dallas if he revitalises himself and does the biz.
