OK guys, obviously a bit early to talk about the 2011 season. But it starts as soon as 2010 season finishes really!
Now, I'm no team coach but I think most people will agree with me here. We've had a strong 2010 season, we've made it to finals day to prove that. But by no means did we make it easy for ourselves. With close losses to Kirkcaldy and Carluke, we showed we were a strong team. But on the flip side we had some close calls to Grangemouth etc, and to me that's just odd. 2011 can easily be a very very good year for us, if we want it to be. For the next couple of months, lets enjoy our football Sundays, since we can't play in the dark! But obviously the guys coaching will get some drills ready for us. That's one thing we need to improve on from 2010. When we drilled, we didn't take it seriously. So when we get back to it, lets focus on really working on it and get consistant numbers to training, especially towards the end of this year/start of next year.
Obviously, I'm not trying to put a downer on 2010, it was a great season. We jsut need to listen more when we're all told what to do. We jsut need to learn on how to build on it.
But, my top idea for us now is a new look at it. And top of my idea tree? The word is consistency. It's what we're missing and what we're going to be working on. Consistency is loads of things to any team. How consistent peopel are at training. Consistently makingthe effort. Consistently winning games etc. If we're consistent, we winning. Simple.
So next topic high on this list is: Training over winter. Obviously, we cannot train at Westburn park in December. Let's be frank, it's to cold, to dangerous and too stupid. SO, again, like last year, lets sort something regular out, like the Sports village. Nearer the time, we can look into it. Obviously, if we get the chance to do more drills and training in decent conditions, we'll be even sharper next year. A rough idea speaking to Mike is enjoy what is left of "Summer" and whn it gets to bad and we have to head inside, we start getting ready for next season. I don't know about you but if we were paying a few quid for decent area to train, I'd want to train, the more we train, the sharper the sword. Just an idea though!
As per my other topic regardign the strips, we'll have a fly new look for next year too perhaps!
So of course, I open this up to the rest of the team now for any input or ideas or anything on how you want to improve the team. Any ideas, opinions etc lets hear it. and good/bad points from this season, stuff you want to see improved on, maybe some stuff you want to see rid of? No idea will be cinsidered stupid, within reason obivously so it will all be beneficial to the growth of the club. Anything like ideas on how to get some more players perhaps, maybe some place we can train AND get changed would also be good.
So lets go and hear whateveryone has to say please.
