I reckon that Archuleta is still a good player and could do well on a talented defence. For a 6th rounder he could be good, although in honesty I hadnt taken into account how much he might be getting paid - the Redskins had given him quite a big contract hadnt they?

It is reported that the Atlanta Falcons will trade backup quarterback Matt Schaub to the Houston Texans, according to NFL sources. The Texans will surrender a second-round draft pick, and there could be other compensation involved. If this goes through what does this mean for David Carr ?

Its gone through The Atlanta Falcons have traded quarterback Matt Schaub to the Houston Texans for a second-round pick in this year's draft, a second-round pick in next year's draft, and have swapped picks in the first round this year. Atlanta now will go to No. 8 from No. 10; Houston will go from No. 8 to No. 10.

I'm looking forward to seeing Schaub get a chance to start, he's looked pretty good in the few games he's played for Atlanta, so should be interesting. As for Archuleta, true the Redskins probably paid too much for him, but he's still a solid player, and a steal at a 6th round pick! Mikey

Agree with Mike, cannot wait to see what Schaub can do, my only fear is that he has a couple of bad games, and folk jump on him. From what we seen in Vick's absence, he was solid. Good arm, good decisions, and the team liked him...but everyone loves the back up lol (apart from Brooks Bollinger, although he's and backup backup, so that dont count!)

Only a year ago Archuleta was the highest paid safetys in the game and I remember the Redskins fans creaming themselves when he moved there.....struggled against the deep pass, and the Redskins brought in Omar freeking Stoutmire to replace him ;D ;D ;D ;D
And flashback to a year ago...........someone is eating his words
Now hes traded for a sixth round pick, which begs the question, why didnt the Skins hawk him around for more?.......it just goes to prove that you dont become a bad player overnight....unless you end up at the Redskins ;D ;D

I know raiders like to get some booty but this ridiculous.
The Oakland Raiders have signed quarterback Josh Booty, the former prep star who has been out of football since 2003 and has never thrown a pass in the NFL.
Booty was one of the nation's top high school quarterbacks in 1993 when he decided to play baseball instead of football. He spent five years with the Florida Marlins but played only 13 games at the major league level.

Now we have secured the services of Josh Booty there is no reason to draft Jamarcus Russell or Brady Quinn! Long time Raider back up QB Marques Tuiasosopo has signed for the Jets. I can see David Carr (despite his 250 sacks) being signed next week. Ian

At the moment they have Andrew Walters and now a guy who hasn't thrown an NFL pass. How's a rookie QB gonna develop when he has those two to ask for advice?

To be fair, Booty could just be getting signed for training camp and to see how he gets on in Pre-Season. I'm actually quite gutted that Tui's gone, though I knew he probably would. As for Carr, I think he can still be a good starter, if he lands with the right team, but I'm afraid the Raiders probably aren't that team, especially seeing as Brooks struggled to avoid sacks last season, although I think a slinky would have had trouble avoiding sacks with the Raiders last year! Carr is a good QB, no question anout it, problem was that hes been running for his life for the past couple of seasons behind a Houston line that leaks like a sieve

I just heard some very disturbing news: www.nfl.com/teams/story/DEN/10081089The Broncos are shopping around Al Wilson to free up some cap space?! That actually scares me because as far as I am concerned, he is the heart and soul of that defence which has been consistently among the league's best for many years. Personally I love Al and would be very upset if he were to leave. Its times like this I wish the Broncos hadn't shelled out on the likes of Daniel Graham Fingers crossed we keep him!
