Welker to Razor for a second and seventh round draft pick, phins now own 3 of the first 60 picks in the draft, well wooptdoo, still think it was a bad move. And just to better that, we terminated Randy McMichael too. Although we signed that random dude from whatever team (trying to make a point) i think that is a stupid move, unless we were to get a Gates or Crumpler in (and i know McMichael aint that good, but hes thought of highly in Miami by the fans) it was stupid!
And we bunged out poor joey too, just for good measure!

CHICAGO (March 5, 2007) -- The Chicago Bears reached a preliminary agreement to trade running back Thomas Jones to the New York Jets for a second-round draft pick.
A person familiar with the trade told The Associated Press the Jets will give up a second-round draft pick, 37th overall, for Jones, who rushed for 1,210 yards and six touchdowns in helping the Bears make the Super Bowl. The person did not wish to be identified because the trade has not been officially announced.
And
Dallas also re-signed kicker Martin Gramatica and has reportedly agreed to terms with veteran quarterback Brad Johnson, who is expected to back up starter Tony Romo. Johnson, who spent most of Monday at Valley Ranch for an official visit, could be officially signed as early as Tuesday morning.
Gramatica signed a two-year contract, though terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Johnson is the kinda guy that could really help Romo improve his game. And step in and deliver if needed.
Gotta say, unless the Bears get in a high profile QB, they are gonna fall heavily this year. Jones single handedly carried the Offense through some games because of Rexy being so inept at QB!

At least Johnson will help out Romo on the sidelines and not stand and sulk with his hands rammed into his shoulder pads like Bledsoe did.......the only problem is that if Romo gets injured..............

Travis Henry to a 5-year deal at Mile High. I think he could fit in nicely to Denver's system. Maybe get himself back to that 12+ rushing TDs per season mark again.

If I understand this right: The Jets get Jones and Chicago's second round pick (63rd overall) - Going by Scotty's post The Bears get New York's second round pick they aquired from Washington (37th Overall). So all the Bears really get in return for a 1,000 yard back is 26 places higher up in the second round. I know an early pick in the 2nd round can be almost as good as a late pick in the first, but surely they could get more for Jones!? Mikey

Dolphins agree to 5-year deal with former Steelers LB Porter By TIM REYNOLDS, AP Sports Writer March 6, 2007
MIAMI (AP) -- Joey Porter has agreed to a five-year, $32 million contract with the Miami Dolphins, making the former second-team All-Pro linebacker the first marquee player to join the club during this free agent period.
Porter is guaranteed $20 million in the deal, which was agreed to late Monday, according to a person with knowledge of the discussion who requested anonymity because Porter has not yet passed his physical and the contract may not be signed until Wednesday or Thursday.
Porter spent his first eight seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who released him last week in a salary-cap move. He would have received $1 million if he was on the Steelers' roster Tuesday, and was set to make $4 million more for the 2007 season, the final one under his deal with Pittsburgh.
His 60 sacks rank fourth in Steelers' history, and he only figures to add more star power to a Dolphins defense that already has reigning defensive player of the year Jason Taylor and ranked fourth in the NFL in yards allowed last season.
And the linebacker position, which was already considered a strength with Pro Bowler Zach Thomas and Channing Crowder -- who combined for 269 tackles in 2006 -- now has a player in Porter that averaged more than 60 tackles annually in his tenure with Pittsburgh, a team he helped win the Super Bowl two seasons ago.
Porter's addition is part of what's becoming a major roster overhaul by the Dolphins, who were 6-10 last season, and new coach Cam Cameron.
Already, Miami has either released or traded seven players who started at least one game on offense in 2006 -- offensive linemen Bennie Anderson, Damion McIntosh and Jeno James, quarterback Joey Harrington, tight end Randy McMichael, running back Sammy Morris and wide receiver Wes Welker.
Plus, the Dolphins have parted ways with defensive end Kevin Carter, defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson and offensive lineman Seth McKinney, who missed 2006 because of injury.

Interesting on the Donte Stallworthless one, seems that the reason that the Eagles never resigned him is that hes in the NFL substance abuse programme and the Eagles dont want to spend big money then have to deal with a suspension

I am annoyed we've lost both Welker and McMichael, but as an article on Miami's homepage puts it, that finally someone has got it right; that the group on offense just can't cut it!! In my opinion McMichael was good, problem is everyone else at the position gets overlooked by Gates and Crumpler.......remember as well how Gates got where he is (signed by the Chargers as an UNDRAFTED free agent!!!! Now honestly who would have said in 2003, that an Undrafted rookie would become the best tight end in the league??? Very Few!!!!) Am not saying that David Martin (that was your random dude Neil) is the next Antonio Gates, but obviously Cameron knows what he's doing based on his track record. I'm still agreeing with what I said last year, that Culpepper was a good signing back last year, the time out now to fully recover, a new system on offense should only help. Joey Porters arrival boosts our defense, injection of a good defensive lineman with our first pick would do wonders. Learning the defense and learning it from a team that boasts Jason Taylor, Vonnie Holliday, Zach Thomas, Joey Porter.....can that really be a bad thing???

Jeremy Newberry (good player, weak knees) is a good FA signing for a cheapo one year deal for $1.5M (with no signing bonus and an injury void clause). Many of the other FA signings have been complete madness! Worst one so far: Buffalo $25m for Langston Walker, can't play Tackle, only good at blocking FGs! Dallas $50 for Leonard Davis (and he may play Guard)?? 49ers spent 10 years escaping from salary cap hell - now they are right back in it! The Denver moves are perhaps the most interesting, but possibly signs of desperation and paying way over the odds for certain players - e.g.Travis Henry one drugs bust away from League suspension. Interesting times ....... Ian

Rumor has it that the Broncos are already looking at trading away Dre Bly! Washington has already offered Shawn Springs and some picks for Bly, but I'd be keen to hang onto him. I was amazed to hear about the Daniel Graham contract - biggest for a tight end in the league! - I doubt that much of it is guaranteed though. I'd like to see Henry do his stuff, but the length of the contract seems a lil big. In saying that NFL contracts tend to mean nothing, with all these loop-holes and clauses all over the place.
And news just in - Patrick Ramsay has signed a 2 year deal with the Broncos. I'd like to see them get a GOOD mentor in for Cutler. Eric Johnson (former niners TE) to New Orleans

It wouldnt surprise me in the least Stu to see the Redskins make some insane trade for Bly thats what Danny "Boy" Snyder does, try to sign marquee name players while letting his dependible players slip away to other teams like Dockery..........I also wouldt be surprised to see Stalworthless landing in DC
