I think Stevie Wonder could have made better calls than the refs.

4 Critical calls..... Seattle TD - in the letter of the law the refs were right, but Ive seen a hell of a lot worse not get called Pittsburg TD - I didnt think he got in but the refs took the east way out with no indisputable evidence to overturn it Holding call - Bogus...total bogus, unless they called the wrong number...took away Seattle's momentum then led to an INT Blocking below the waist - WTF?...it was a bloody tackle!! Also the big Seattle kick return that was called back for a hold This was supposed to be the "premier" officiating crew remember

About the Seattle td called back it should have been offesetting penalties because the Steeler defender made a slight grab at the arm and elbow of the wide reicever. As i understand the Pass inefrence rule you are not allowed to do that after 5 yards.

To be honest i do actually think Roethlisberger got in. Looking at the angle of the goal-line the camera is not set straight along it and that has to be taken into account. It only has to be the slightest fraction over the goal line and thats in, and from what i have seen, i think there must have been something that broke the plane.

I think the pass interference call against seattle was correct. although there wasnt major contact there was a little push that prevented the defender moving towards the ball as quickly as he would have had there been no contact. I would agree that the block below the waist call was the worst call ever. how can you block someone that has the ball?!

I watched the game again on Monday night and have to agree with the comments about the poor officiating. It was not just bad calls - everything went the way of the Steelers, as if the NFL were determined to have them win to create a "feel good" story about "The Bus" etc. This is in continuity with what went on during virtually every play off game I watched this season, with the officiating crews displaying major bias in favour of the home teams and especially Mr P Manning. I fear that Paul T and his catamites are having a sinister influence on the outcome of games! As a Raiders fan you expect this sort of thing, although I note that the NFL recently apologized for the call that broke the Raider's season (when victory was gifted to the Chiefs in the final minutes). A man of unquestionable integrity is desperately needed to referee the next Superbowl - step forward Scotty!!

Hmmmm a conspiracy theory Ian...I tend to agree Add to the mix the fact that the Rooneys are one of the original owners

there wudnt have been so many calls if the seahawks hadnt cheated lol. me and ricky argued about the big ben td for ages but from the way i saw it the ball just broke the white line "JUST". and every play theres sum1 holding sumwhere just depends if the ref notices. any way im happy

Regarding that so called 1st touchdown for the Steelers an official is told you only call it if you are sure. The official at 1st indicated the ball wasn't across the line. But then said it did which makes me think he was looking at the at the ball being moved across the line which was done after the players knee down.So basically i am saying that official was wrong because i dont see how he could be sure that the ball crossed the line before the players knee was down and i should know as an official you are told that you call it if you are 100 percent sure.I dont see how that official could be 100 percent sure.

Geez Louise, cant people look past this whole officials thing...Lets face it guys, its in the past, and what we cannot change is the past, what we can change is the future, so we know that we get better officials next time!
We've just seen the greatest sporting event of this year (bar the world cup) and all we can do is nit pick at the referee! Everyone seems to have forgotten that Monster Pass from Randle El, and that awsome grab from Ward after the bomb from Big Ben. What about the longest run in Superbowl history? No, all's we can moan about is the officials!

I get your point Neil...Id just like to add that they were probably the two poorest teams to contesta SB for a while. Well matched yes, close game yes but FFS Roethlesberger had something like a 22 passer rating.
Although it pains me to say this the Patriots would have murdered both teams

they would have murdered them, except they lost to the steelers in the playoffs?
