Hi,
We are on the hunt for teams that would like to participate is this very worthwhile event. It would be fantastic to see a squad like the Oilcats taking part in full gear (maybe?) and add to the rapidly growing media attention the event is receiving. This can only be good news for the publicity for American Football, right?
I looked into the possibility of the Wildcats as well, but see they have a game on the same day of the event.
Many thanks for taking the time to look at this.
If you have any questions or would like more information please contact me using the details listed below.

BACKROUND
The Grand Race
Grand Piano Racing and Summer Solstice Music Festival
21st June 2009
Cairngorm Mountain, Aviemore
www.thegrandrace.org
My name is Glyn Morris and I run a piano business, www.piano40shop.com in NE Scotland. Gregor, our son who is 9, is on the autistic spectrum. He is just a star, very good natured, affectionate, sociable, loves music. Downside is his awareness to danger is not good, and he has no speech but very vocal, in which he can sound out ‘ello’ in greeting people. I feel very strongly in promoting the awareness of autism and for this reason thought of many ways I could use my experience of pianos to create a great charity event. Gregor, is the real inspiration and reason for this event. Sitting beside him, is little sis Emily, the best sister and one of the best young carers we know.
MAIN EVENT
The Grand Race is a FIRST EVER and will involve a race between teams of 10 pushing a 7ft grand piano from Glenmore to Cairngorm Base Station. We are using 3 older 7ft pianos but in working order so they can be played as they’re pushed. The Cairngorms National Park is Britain's largest National Park, with outstanding natural beauty in the heart of Scotland.
The TGR Committee includes fundraising, publicity and legal staff, all of whom are volunteers.
A welcoming reception the evening before the event will also giving a chance for teams to scrutinise the pianos.
The Music Festival starts at 1430 which will include an evening concert in the highest venue in the UK, The Ptarmigan Restaurant with a capacity of 300.
Disability Snowsport UK www.disabilitysnowsport.org.uk (Cairngorm) and The National Autistic Society www.nas.org.uk will benefit from this 50/50.
ADVERTISING
Each race piano will be vinyl wrapped in a company sponsor.
Teams of 10 promoting company logo clothing. (10 teams have registered to date) 20 target.
